I am so excited to be able to offer hypnobirthing courses to the expat community in Belgium. I have a great insight and understanding of how it feels to have a baby in a country that is not your own, a solid knowledge of Belgium maternity services and an absolute passion for empowering you to birth your baby in a way that is safest and best for you. And, I can sign post you to support networks and services to ease your journey through the early days of parenthood and beyond.
Hypnobirthing provides the tools and confidence for you to give birth more gently, calmly, in greater comfort and in safe hands. How wonderful is that! These are skills I wish someone had taught me 18 years ago when I gave birth to my daughter. I am committed to empowering women to have a positive birth experience. I love that my course places responsibility for the birth of your baby firmly with you! Sharing the wonders of hypnobirthing with you would be my greatest pleasure.
Before coming to Belgium I was a qualified nurse with 25 years practical experience and have a Master of Studies in Primary and Community Care from Cambridge University. Studying for a Diploma in Antenatal Education from the University of Bedford (UK) kept me busy as we settled into life in Belgium. I was a Prenatal Teacher (teaching the more traditional NCT style antenatal classes) for the BCT for 5 years. I qualified as a KG Hypnobirthing Teacher in August 2020. All my acquired knowledge, skills and experience as an antenatal teacher inform and enrich my hypnobirthing classes.
My KG Hypnobirthing teacher training was accredited by the Royal College of Midwives in the UK - a mark of quality and professionalism I value. I receive ongoing support from KG Hypnobirthing, with study days and talks from some of the leading figures in maternity care and birth workers worldwide. This ensures my knowledge stays relevant and up to date.
